[매일일보 한종훈 기자] 산익인 엄홍길 대장이 블랙야크 기술 고문으로 위촉됐다.
블랙야크는 지난 9일 양재사옥에서 강태선 블랙야크 회장·엄홍길 대장 등이 참석한 가운데 기술 고문 위촉식을 개최했다. 이날 블랙야크는 엄홍길 대장에게 기술 고문 위촉장을 전달하고, 향후 지원을 약속하는 후원 계약서를 체결했다.
이로써 엄홍길 대장은 블랙야크 기술 고문으로 2년간 상품 기획 및 개발에 자문 역할을 수행한다. 블랙야크는 세계 최초로 히말라야 8천미터 고봉 16좌를 등정한 엄대장의 경험과 노하우를 제품에 이식하는 정통성으로 급변하는 기술혁신 시대에 대응할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
강태선 블랙야크 회장은 “거봉산악회를 시작으로 새로운 기회를 모색했던 90년대 브랜드 탄생의 역사와 함께하는 등 블랙야크와 오랜 인연이 있는 엄홍길 대장을 후원하게 되어 굉장한 의미가 있다”면서 “오리지널리티 강화와 블랙야크의 브랜드 미션을 다시 한번 되새기는 이 시점에서 또 다른 역사를 만들어갈 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.
한편 강태선 회장은 1990년대 엄홍길 대장과 떠난 히말라야 등반길에서 영감을 얻어 등반인들의 짐을 지고 우직하게 산에 오르는 검은 소 블랙야크라는 이름을 짓고 등산 의류 사업을 본격적으로 시작했다.
