The Um Hong Gil Human Foundation (UHGHF) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new school building at Shikhar Secondary School, located in Bheriganga Municipality-11, Ramghat, Surkhet. This will be the 20th school constructed by the foundation in Nepal.

The project includes a three-story reinforced concrete (RCC) building with 18 classrooms, a two-story hostel, gender-friendly toilets with a septic tank, classroom and office furniture, a library, and a playground.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Yagya Prasad Dhakal of Bheriganga Municipality and Deputy Mayor Dhansara Bohora. Other participants included Kim Bum Ho, Vice President of Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC); a 32-member Korean delegation; Captain Um Hong Gil, Executive Director of UHGHF Korea; Park Hee Dong, Country Director of UHGHF Nepal; Krishna Prashad Pokharel, Chief Administrative Officer, and Gajendra Kumar G.C., Head of the Education Department, Bheriganga Municipality. Mahesh Datta Devkota, Under Secretary of the School Education Department, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), and other key stakeholders.

On the occasion, stationery supplies were distributed to students with the support of IIAC.

Captain Um Hong Gil expressed his hope that this school project would bring happiness to the community and inspire students to pursue their dreams. He emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication, stating, "Dreams do come true, but to make them a reality, you must work hard and study with dedication.

"Kim Bum Ho, Vice President of IIAC and the major donor to the project, shared his delight in supporting the school's development and contributing to the education of rural Nepal.

The Mayor of Bheriganga Municipality acknowledged the foundation's contribution and highlighted the importance of similar support in other sectors such as healthcare.
